Biography
Lori Gibson Willard is a native New Mexican. She was born in Roswell, NM and raised in Carrizozo, NM where her family has been in Lincoln County since the early 1900's. Lori received a bachelor's degree in regular and special education from New Mexico State University and taught special education at Truth or Consequences Public Schools and Las Cruces Public Schools before attending Oklahoma City University Law School. Lori graduated law school in 2004 and was admitted to the New Mexico State Bar. Lori practiced for two years with the 12th Judicial District Attorney's Office prosecuting Domestic Violence before opening her own law office in Ruidoso NM in 2006 where she focused on Family Law, Estate Planning, Adoptions and Guardianships. In 2014, Lori sat as one of two 12th Judicial District Hearing Officers for Domestic Relations cases. Lori has also served as President of the 12th Judicial Bar Association and a member of the 12th Judicial Pro Bono Committee offering free legal services to residents of Lincoln and Otero Counties. Lori married Cody Willard in 2013 and they have two children, Lyncoln and Amaris Willard. Cody was raised in Ruidoso, NM but worked most of his career in New York City in the financial sector and was the host of Happy Hour, a television show on Fox Business. Cody and Lori now live full time in Carrizozo where Lori is now partially retired from the practice of law and Cody manages www.tradingwithcody.com and 10000 Days Fund LP. Lori and Cody's daughter Amaris was born with a chromosome defect known as Trisomy 13 and is now Lori's full time job.
